Apostisy - The Paradox Of Existence (2021)

[First and foremost, if any of the info here is inaccurate, please let me know and I'll correct it.]
Clocking in at over an hour in length, the album features a classic melodic death metal sound, along with some post rock/metal and melodic power metal vibes. It also features orchestral backings and wonderfully relaxing piano work.
Overall is a really good album. Lyrically the album focuses on existential and philosophical themes. Musically it reminds me of old school melodeath, similar to early Amorphis, Dark Tranquility, Soilwork, and Mercenary. There's a very nice flow to it. The melodic tones are relaxing, but it's death metal, so it has that "dark nasty brutal" factor.
Track one is an instrumental orchestral keyboard piece that is joined by a solid rhythm guitar riff, drums, and even a bell (similar to "Jekyll & Hype" by Petra, but at a lower octave).
My favorite songs are tracks two and eight. The title track is super catchy, and track eight has a wonderfully melodic flow, along
with the keyboard backings.
Tracks three and four lay down some post rock guitar tones. Track four has a significant melodic power metal influence.
I really like the main rhythm guitar riff on track three. It reminds me of Demon Hunter's True Defiance album, as well as Nocturnal Rites' Phoenix album, specially the solo in "Heart As Black As Coal".
Tracks four and nine have VERY similar intro notes.
Track two features guest vocals from Björn "Speed" Strid of Soilwork.
The cover art was done by Jani Stefanovic (Miseration, ex-Renascent,
ex-Crimson Moonlight, ex-DivineFire, ex-Hilastherion, The Weakening, Essence Of Sorrow, Zhakiah, The Waymaker).
Backing vocals on track two, and the vocals on tracks three though eight are done by two vocalists (Chris Bone and DM). Track 9's vocals are done by Chris Bone.
I'm unsure as to whether Chris and DM are session vocalists or not, but I would assume they are.
Vocals and lyrics on track nine are written by Chris Bone.
Most of the lyrics on the album are written by a guy called "Fenrir", who basically translates ideas from Velsingard into words that fit the music.
The keyboards were orchestrated by Lucas D Mascio.
Velsingard played guitars and bass, and programmed the drums.
I've checked out most of the band's material thus far, and I'd say this album is the best one yet.
