Welcome to the Nest Productions homepage. I initially named this site the "Barfing Bird Blog". It was a haphazardly compiled archive of musical information I started to accompany the YouTube channel Regurgitating Owl Productions . As time went on, I decided to focus more on making comprehensive lists of musical releases by year, staring with 2020, and based solely on my personal interests. The site is mainly focused on Christian music. Though there is a little secular music in there, the Christian scene is my focus. As of 2023, Nest Productions is an independent record label, currently working with Finnish black metal musician and independent scholar, Armath Sargon. Back in the day (so like 2014/2015, I guess) I was this cheesy teenager who liked heavy music. At the time I was especially drawn to the "boundary pushing" goregrind/grindcore bands like Vomitorial Corpulence, No Return To My Vomit, Vomitous Discharge, Swinery, Demonic Dismemberment, etc. One of the bands I listened to in passing was Encryptor, the one man grindcore project of Felipe Deiz III, who was/is also behind Sorrowstorm (which originated in the Republic Of Panama, and is currently based in the USA). I wasn't into black metal back then so I didn't get into Sorrowstorm until later on. At that point I had sort of gotten away from death metal and into more progressive metal and black metal. Stylistically, Sorrowstorm is "melodic black metal with progressive elements and some minor post-metal elements", completely with clean vocals.
