Crimson Moonlight - Eternal Emperor EP (1998)

Image
01. Preludium 02. Where Darkness Cannot Reach 03. Symphony Of Moonlight 04. Eternal Emperor 05. The Final Battle One of the first Christian based bands to implement symphonic elements into black metal (of not the first, granted there weren't very many "unblack" bands at the time to begin with), Crimson Moonlight delivers an excellent symphonic black metal ep, with that "dank dark castle" feel, as the album cover suggests!

Blessed By A Broken Heart - Demo (2004)

Image
01. Serial Thriller 02. Cellar Door 03. Some Kind Of Wonderful The first release by metalcore band BBABH. The demo features an old school brutal metalcore sound, as opposed to their later music, which had a sort of "power pop" influence. (YouTube playlist coming eventually)

Hail The Blessed Hour - Beauty Distorted (2009)

Image
01. Your Guarantee Isn't Worth The Blood It Was Written In 02. With This Blood 03. These Praying Hands 04. Party's Over, Daddy's Home 05. Remains Of A Day 06. I Will Only Meet You Half Way 07. Judas The Betrayer 08. The Prayer 09. Irrelevance 10. Death Becomes You The third release by deathcore band Hail The Blessed Hour, following their "pre-release demo" (also titled "Beauty Distorted") which featured alternate artwork, and five tracks from the album. The album is not available anywhere where online as far as I am aware. It was a few years ago but has since been lost, possibly deleted or taken down. (YouTube playlist coming eventually....)

Casting Crowns - Independent Demo (2001)

Image
01. Blinded Eyes 02. The Wait 03. So Much More 04. Banner 05. Word 06. In Me 07. To Be Loved 08. You Are The Life 09. Shadow Of Your Wings 10. Prayer For A Friend 11. You Are The Fire 12. Fear The first demo by Grammy Award nominated Christian rock band, Casting Crowns. This album features two different male vocalists (one being Mark Hall, but I am unsure of the other). The demo differs from the band's later material, as it features a slight (and I mean very slight) punk rock influence. Quite a few of the songs on the demo made it into Casting Crowns albums later on in their career, including the final song "Fear", which became their hit song "Voice Of Truth". (YouTube playlist coming eventually....eventually.)

Blood Of The Martyrs - Once More, With Feeling (2011)

Image
01. Showdown At Cremation Creek 02. Vietnamese "Two Step" Viper 03. Ahh... Real Monsters!!! 04. 12 Counts Of Sass In The First Degree 05. Now Museum Now You Don't 06. Escape To The House Of Mummies Pt. II 07. Zookreeper 08. Lady Nightshade 09. I Know Why The Caged Bird Kills 10. The Guild Of Calamitous Intent The second BOTM release sort of lightened up a bit on the deathcore brutality, going with a slightly more prevalent "electronic metalcore" influenc though still with that deathcore style. The album is very reminiscent of early 2000s metalcore and post-hardcore, as indicated by the song titles (I mean, just WOW). The album is still very much a deathcore album. (YouTube playlist coming eventually...)

Becoming The Archetype - The Remnant (2004)

Image
01. Intro 02. Oath To Order 03. Two 04. 54 Is 44 05. Restoration 06. The Regular Battle 07. In Loving Memory 08. The Longest Instant 09. For The Sake Of Moving On 10. Married To The Minus The first full length by progressive death metal/metalcore band Becoming The Archetype, also known back then as The Remnant. This album was recorded and released under the band's previous name (cover art 1), but apparently (from what I've heard) the band handed the album out at their shows as a BTA demo in the early days after changing their name (cover art 2).

Blood Of The Martyrs - Demo (2010)

Image
01. I Know Why The Caged Bird Kills 02. Ahh... Real Monsters!!! 03. Semper Fidelis Tyrannosaurus This was the band's first release, which was pretty much a deathcore demo. The band played hardcore influenced deathcore, but with an electronic twist.  (YouTube playlist coming eventually...)

Demorior - The Kingdom EP (2008)

Image
01. Introduction 02. The Wretched Man 03. Path To Gahanna 04. Redemption You've Denied 05. Devoured By Lust 06. Game Time 07. The Kingdom  "The Kingdom" was the one and only release by deathcore band Demorior. It was pretty much what you'd expect from a deathcore release at the time; chugging riffs, high screams and low growls, pretty standard stuff. Standard, yet pretty awesome, and definitely underrated! Check it out  HERE !
